For full transparency, this really started out as a challenge to write out an erotically charged yet non explicit mind control superhero story. As such, we got the first part where I tackled different aspects that could possibly break down the mind control - the heroic will, the duty to people, the parents, the self image. Corruption is such a great avenue for doubling down on the mind control even if it would feel repetitive at times, but it's a great way to see how human minds are that complex. Lucien with his obsession with Sol went straight for the jugular and broke this down for his complete possession of the hero. My artist friend with barely any boundaries enjoyed the idea, and that prompted me to write more which is why part 2 delved in a fellow superhero attempting rescue which part one didn't tackle, but it adds more to the setting as a lived in world. Adding more conquests to the belt felt pretty fun to write, but to my surprise, my friend actually drew a line for being a serial monogamist. THAT's probably where the shift happened. I thought it would be interesting to write how Sol and Lucien can take the steps for an actual relationship, changing a mind control story to a mind control aftermath. And I believe that's where they are at this point where they tackle the tragedy of years of mind control. The preliminary part of this whole tale I feel definitely fits in to this site, while the latter would probably fit better on its more romantic sister site. Nevertheless, if readers are ready to explore more than the mind control, then i thought it would be fun aspect to write about the development of new desires that was borne of the mind control. Moving forward, I can definitely see why people would think characters would speak or think like poetry. But it works here because the characters themselves are larger than life, actual superheroes with duties to save the world and these parts are still the most character driven part of the story. Like how a movie just opts to welcome you in their world and you follow a set of protagonists and just end up learning more while scenes progress. I'd like to think it's a writing style that doesn't baby its audience with details. People are free to extrapolate its details based on it. But the real benefit is just being able to add and create more scenes while an overarching story fuels the narrative. That said, the next part after they return to the hero association is the lightest part of the story, where there is freedom to explore the characters outside of their heroic roles. So I hope you'd give that a read which should be available by the next week! Lastly, when I was writing i was definitely not inclined yet to do smut, hence all the metaphors because we do know what's obviously going on behind the scenes is sexual. The urge to write it happened after the epilogue. I'm still thinking whether to post that or not (which id probably talk more of in part 5 finale), but I hope they enjoy the relationships that I ended up writing about that mutated from a mind control story. It definitely felt cathartic at least to write sex and filth after the whole thing came into a conclusion ahahahahah Overalll, thank you again for your attention and feedback.
