Fundamentally, this story is so wonderful because of how real it feels. 72 fundamentally starts off looking like your typical drone in an erotic horror story, and while the impression is that he's going to be just solely fixated on pleasure and servitude, things take a sharp turn out of that gradually. His grappling over the horror of how he was made was well done- it makes sense that he would be conflicted over it- on one hand, if the football player hadn't been taken and experiment on, he wouldn't be alive. On the other hand, Fehr essentially has decided to experiment, kidnap and enslave multiple individuals and erase their personalities. While some of them may have been dubiously justified (possibly like the gang members- though that is a reach), a lot of this really reads like Fehr found people nobody was looking for and kidnapped them for use in his experiments. Additionally, while Fehr continues to talk and showcase how little he really cares about any of the drones as individuals, 72 winds up feeling less and less pleasurable about everything. We see hints of discomfort about his situation, but his desire to submit and have a master override that for some time, even right up until the very end- he's okay with the situation because it feels good to some extent. However, when Fehr refuses to help out his fellows, 72 winds up realizing this isn't going to be a happy servitude, which he was getting hints of before- Fehr will use him solely to gratify himself, and the rest will be even worse off, even if it will be rather pleasurable. As much as he loves the feeling of submission and the more sensual aspects of the exchange he has with Fehr, he dislikes somewhat that he isn't exactly getting a choice- though he still loves the doctor's ministrations. I do think that 72 might have gone along with Fehr if he had agreed to help out the others, but him refusing to do that was the nail in the coffin, as well as his overall arrogance. Once that kicked in, 72 doing as he did makes total sense. The final scene where it's implied 72 is essentially trying to figure out how to fix the others is a open, but slightly hopeful ending. He seems to care for them, in a emotional and sexual sense as well. Weather he succeeds however is a different question. I can only hope he does. But having been fundamentally altered- how will they reintegrate back into society? That Fehr took people who were forgotten is somewhat of a benefit in that there might not be too many lose ends to navigate, but 72 was a football player. He likely has (or had?) a family, and people he knew. What on earth is he going to say to them? Can he even say anything to them?

Hot, but also, it’s giving… orientalism. It’s giving tired white supremacist tropes.

@[Edgarbird](/user/show/908403) Change the protagonist to be a pale Jewish boy, now its giving world war 3 vibes (if you prefer).

I had a long boring conversation with reddit about the contents of the story. You can replace white boy with Jewish, you can replace Arab with white jock and the story would be exactly identical which means that its at least not _inherently_ racist. The protagonist would have the same reaction to any incompatible/masculine figure. This is also not meant to be a serious story, its humorous and told through the PoV of a weird (perhaps slightly autistic, maybe a bit misanthropic) main character. I don't know how you got "white supremacist" from any of it. Also the character is not racist, he hates everyone equally. He just sees "different" and is using racial language to express his initial frustration. It **is** offensive, though. Thankfully, its just a story.

So, now we need to learn how Ethan ended up "suggestible" or how Carlos plays into this? You did a great job of starting the story. Now let your imagination go off on wild tangents. You'll be surprised where it leads.
