Really enjoying the series. One thing that seems discordant is that Mike remains diapered. I.e. if he's diapered, how can he also be responsible for the diapering of Colton? (I get that one can be dominant to one partner, and submissive to another, but diapers are extreme, i.e. the changing and constant need for the dom. to be near. Do we even know Mike's dom/daddy? Does he live with Mike? Where is he?) Don't get me wrong - I'm really enjoying this series; just hoping our generous-with-his-time-and-efforts author will address this before I get sick with worry that poor Mike will get diaper rash...

@[Rock Creek Werewolf](/user/show/10002145) No problem, I'm happy to address these questions. So, Mike does have a daddy who is named Roy. Roy is the chief of police of the city of Purdan. Colton met Roy in chapter 10 (José) without realizing that Roy and Mike had a relationship beyond boss-employee. Mike reappears at the very end of that same chapter, which leads directly into the very emotional conclusion of the hospital arc of the story in chapter 11 (Inky McGrowl). During the events of that short chapter, Colton learns that Roy is Mike's daddy and Mike learns that Roy visited Colton in the hospital and apologized for the unnecessary traumas that were visited upon Colton (beyond simply making him into a diaper boy) and encouraged him to forgive Mike. At the end of that chapter, Mike walks out of the hospital carrying Colton and the tenor of the story _definitively shifted_. Roy **_absolutely_** will return to the story. But this is his son's time to bond with his own little boy and he is maintaining a respectful distance for now. The nature of the ultimate relationship among Colton/Mike/Roy has been through a few iterations in my head. I hope everyone will enjoy how I ultimately decided to shape things. Perhaps when the story concludes I will do some post hoc not-spoiler posting about how things might have gone in earlier versions of this story (that only exist in my head and some very brief story notes). As for living with diapers/incontinence being extreme, I have to point out that there are a great many incontinent people in the world, and not just the very young and very old. Some of them are even part of the ABDL community in addition to being incontinent. So living with incontinence is certainly possible, and people do it, and they adjust for it. In the fantasy world I have created this is made that much easier by the totality of Purdan being gay kinksters and Helton Hills in particular being the little diaperfolk suburb. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate the thoughtful questions!

@[amul](/user/show/10003734) Just a couple more things. Chapter 10 is named "José" because this site does not allow a 3 character story title. It should be named "Roy", as he is by far the more important character introduced in that chapter. I almost changed Roy's name to something with more characters, but in the end decided to name it after the lovable middle nurse. Mike is officially an adult, and is allowed to change his own diapers (and we've seen him do so several times). However, ABDLs will certainly know that daddies who themselves wear diapers often do like to be changed. It's fun and nice to have someone else do it, and it doesn't necessarily mean that you're a little.

@[amul](/user/show/10003734) You could also just have asked me to change that precondition for the title. :) There has to be a limit somewhere, but I get that in that case, 3 characters makes sense.

@[Martin](/user/show/125990) I also thought about naming it "Chapter 10: Roy" but then I would have had to change all the chapter names. :joy: So I named it after the other character. It's all good.

There is something deliciously twisted about this ending. I didn't see it coming, but didn't have the negative reaction that some readers had. Yes, Rob is an abuser. But maybe Ryan's true love is meant to be Brute. Maybe his savior in this. A second chapter exploring that relationship would be worthwhile.

5 of 5, but as Papa Wearbear says, i guess it needs a prequel, don't you think? Nice touch btw since your hero shares my name ;-) If your are not interested anymore, i might borrow the idea to be a feverish drug dream my own heros might live through. Dylan (boy18cute@yahoo.com)

Dude, this story is unreal. I can’t believe how hot and creative it is. You’re a juggernaut. And I loved how long the chapter was so we really could enjoy the buildup. I need more FAST! I hope one or more of the 7 Oportunists is a dominant bottom that’s going to manipulate and trick the hot hung jocks at the gym to fuck their faces and asses with their big cocks and making them eat out their holes!!

Hi Brian. Is there anything we could say that would encourage you to decide to return to write more of this story? Could you let us know your thoughts?

I love this set-up. Ash is entertaining, and everyone loves himbos. You can hardly go wrong here.

Of course it's wonderful -and you know what I liked. But my favorite part of the story was when Colton gets nervous - and thinks he needs his pacifier and teddy bear. That shows a gut acceptance of his reality. I totally love that. Also you keep Mike as a kind of cypher. We don't know what he's thinking, only what he says and the affection he shows Colton. Perhaps when Colton really accepts the situation and learns to live and love it...then Mike will open up to him. :) As regards to your earlier comment - early this year I had a bout of incontinence, due to an operation. Catheter for 10 days. I didn't know about ABDL then and I would never consider myself the baby. But the great thing about a catheter is all you have to do is _think_ about peeing, and ....**whoosh**!....without any muscle effort...out it comes. :)

@[nycboot](/user/show/131279) I'm glad you were able to pick up on that. I put it all in the same paragraph for a reason; "Oh no, I'm worried that I'll never learn to accept being treated like a child, if only I had my paci or teddy to comfort me in this moment of doubt." :joy: There's a general circularity to this chapter and prior chapters that I intentionally played with and enjoyed as a writerly exercise even if it doesn't come across to the reader. Most importantly being that Colton finally left the hospital by being carried out by Mike. And here we see him need to be carried back into the hospital by Mike. The first time Colton went to the hospital he walked in under his own power but was sent there by Mike. When he was remanded to the locked ward it was Mike who brought him there. In a sense Mike (in addition to being a character in his own right) is functioning as a symbol almost as much as the hospital is. And if not a symbol, then as a kind of negotiator of the transformation, trauma, pleasure and joy that Colton experiences. If Mike comes across as a cypher, I don't think that's my intent. But while none of the characters in this story are self-inserts (for real, they are not), but if I were forced to pick which one was closest to that, Mike would certainly be closest. Much closer than Colton, for sure. But not physically - because I'm not 6'4" or a bodybuilder, or a cop, or ginger. But perhaps that accounts for Mike's mystique. I probably won't let the reader get a glimpse into Mike's head, but I promise he will open up more once Roy is put back in the mix.

Ooof, the tone of this was a kind of masterwork. It's incredibly dark (as befits the DIBS universe) but the just slightly over the top haughtiness of the narrator is undercut by his perversity and horniness in such a way that it makes him a palatable voice for the story. I don't think any other author has pulled this off for me. Normally my reaction to the 'ultra rich depraved slave-owner' pov is so vehement that I cannot enjoy the story, but that didn't happen here and I did find myself boning up and enjoying this dark tale of lust. It's well done and a good effort.
